How Do I Request Something?
Jellyfin is the main way to do this now.
- Open Jellyfin and search for the movie or show you want.
- If there is a request button directly on the poster, click it.
- Otherwise, click anywhere else on the poster to open the item details.
- If the title is not already available, click the request button.
This uses the same request system as Seerr.
Do I Need to Check Jellyfin Before Requesting?
No. It does not matter whether you search in Jellyfin or Seerr.
If something is already available, you will see it by the green checkmark, so just use whichever feels more convenient.
Where Can I Track My Requests and Releases?
In Jellyfin, open the sidebar panels:
Requeststo check your current requests, see release-related status, and open titles that are already availableCalendarto see releases in calendar form
If you want more detail on something that is not on the server yet, another overview of your requests, release-date information, or another place to report an issue, you can also use seerr.dk-homelab.ch.
In Seerr, keep an eye on the digital release marked with a cloud icon .
Can I Request Unreleased Movies or Shows?
Yes.
That applies to both movies and TV shows with future releases. They become available once a digital release exists and a usable source can be found.
How Long Does It Take Until a Requested Title Appears?
There is no fixed ETA.
If it is a popular release, it is usually available very quickly because those are downloaded automatically.
If it is a lesser known title, it can take longer because I have to download it manually.
How Are Weekly TV Shows Handled?
Common weekly releases are usually picked up automatically now.
Lesser known shows can still need manual intervention by me, so those can take longer.
Why Did My Request Disappear or Not Get Added?
Usually that means there was no usable source for it.
This happens more often with lesser known titles, unusual releases, or things that are not widely available yet. I usually notice and deal with this pretty quickly, so please do not re-request the same title.
If something vanished and you want to check what happened, message me and I will take a look.
What Can I Try If Something Does Not Play?
- refresh the page or restart the app
- stop and start the title again if playback freezes or stutters
- try another movie or episode to see whether the issue is title-specific
- check that your internet connection is stable
- if you are in a browser, try a private or incognito window
- test the same title on another device
When Should I Report a Problem?
If a title still has the same issue after you tried another client as well, report it.
That helps rule out a single client being at fault.
If it is an account issue, password issue, or a broader problem across multiple titles or devices, message me directly.
How Do I Report a Problem on a Title?
You can report a problem directly from the item details page in Jellyfin, so you do not need Seerr for this either.
- Open the movie or show in Jellyfin.
- Open the item details if you are not already there.
- Click the report button
- Pick the category that fits.
- Explain the problem briefly and clearly.
- Submit it.
If you prefer, you can report the same thing in Seerr too.
